The Prince Claus Conservatoire closes this year in grand fashion with a showcase concert in which you will be taken on a musical journey through all of the conservatory's departments: Classical, Jazz, Music Teacher and Composition & Music Production.

The Fries Symfonie Orkest celebrated its 60th anniversary on Sunday with a concert in a packed Ontmoetingskerk in Beetsterzwaag. Specifically for this anniversary, the young composer Robert IJserinkhuijsen wrote an intriguing composition inspired by stories from Beetsterzwaag.

The Dutch composer Robert IJserinkhuijsen is the winner of the 10th International Film Music Competition 2022, which took place at Tonhalle Zurich on 29 September 2022 during the 18th Zurich Film Festival. IJserinkhuijsen received the Golden Eye “Best International Film Music 2022” endowed with a 10 000 Swiss franc cash prize. The award was presented to him by the English Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman.

The Van OlstBorg will be opened on 8 September with musical instruments made from old building materials, musicians from the Prince Claus Conservatoire and dancers from Lucia Marthas.

Over 200 composers from 42 countries entered the 10th International Film Music Competition. The jury, headed by the English Academy Award-winning film score composer Rachel Portman, has chosen three compositions to enter the final on September 29. The finalists' compositions will be world premiered during the Zurich Film Festival at the Tonhalle Zurich by the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich.

Het Fries Symfonie Orkest bestaat dit jaar 60 jaar. Dit vieren we met een jubileumconcert op 12 of 13 november. Speciaal hiervoor schrijft conservatorium student Robert IJserinkhuijsen een geheel op Beetsterzwaag gerichte compositie.
